The Foundations for Financial Freedom programme goes to the heart of personal values, spending behaviours and patterns of decision-making that shape a young person’s financial wellbeing. In this programme we identify money habits and external influences that are destiny distractors, and then empower youth with the financial tools to build a secure financial future and live in financial freedom.
Duration: 8 lessons (weeks) of 2 hours each
Who is this course for?We designed this course for anyone who needs to become more aware of their financial choices, such as:
- Students finishing up their high school careers (Grade 11s preparing for their futures and matriculants starting out in the world)
- Students who receive bursaries for tertiary education
- Young people on learnership, YES youth programmes and other technical skills interventions
- Recent graduates and young professionals employed in the workplace
- Small scale entrepreneurs
- Managers in municipalities
- Youth Not in Employment, Education, or Training (NEETs)

I wish every young person could go through this course, it’s life changing! I don’t want to lie, it wasn’t easy. It took a lot of discipline, it’s hard to break habits. It’s still a work in progress, but in the space of a year I can see a huge difference.
